Job description

Description
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and versatile Groundskeeper to help maintain the appearance, safety, and functionality of our property. The ideal candidate will have experience in landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, and general property upkeep, while also being willing to assist with a variety of tasks as operational needs arise.
This position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call responsibilities. The successful candidate must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing physically demanding work.
Requirements
Landscape and Grounds Maintenance
  • Maintain the property's landscaping, including turf, trees, shrubs, flowers, and native and non-native plant species.
  • Plant, prune, trim, weed, fertilize, and care for landscape areas.
  • Monitor the health and condition of plants, trees, and turf and recommend corrective action when needed.
  • Keep grounds clean and free of debris.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance
  • Safely operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including:
    • Lawn mowers
    • Weed trimmers
    • Chainsaws and pruning saws
    • Leaf blowers
    • Other grounds maintenance equipment
  • Perform basic inspections and routine maintenance on equipment.

Irrigation and Plumbing Systems
  • Understand and perform basic repairs to sprinkler and irrigation systems.
  • Troubleshoot irrigation issues and identify leaks or damaged components.
  • Work with plastic and galvanized pipe as needed.
  • Assist with basic plumbing-related repairs associated with grounds and irrigation systems.

Property Support
  • Assist with property projects and general labor tasks as needed.
  • Move furniture, equipment, and other materials when required.
  • Support other departments with operational needs and special projects.
  • Be willing to perform duties outside of traditional groundskeeping responsibilities when necessary.

Qualifications
  • Previous landscaping, groundskeeping, or property maintenance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of native and non-native plants, trees, turf, and landscape maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems, sprinklers, and basic plumbing repairs.
  • Experience safely operating landscape maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects' minimum 50 pounds.
  • Ability to dig, bend, kneel, climb, and perform strenuous physical labor.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Schedule Requirements
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Schedule is not limited to Monday through Friday and may vary based on operational demands.
  • Must be willing to participate in an occasional on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations when needed.
