MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Support Technician to join our team at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA. This is an on-site position.
Help protect our national security while working on innovative projects. You will be responsible for high-level analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation of complex network systems, including LAN, WAN, and internet segments to ensure mission critical stability.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Apply advanced systems analysis techniques and procedures to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications in collaboration with end-users and stakeholders
  • Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems-such as Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and Internet systems-to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption
  • Maintain, install, and troubleshoot complex fiber and copper network infrastructure, ensuring interconnectivity within a sensitive Data Center environment
  • Perform Wi-Fi and RFID signal testing and comprehensive coverage surveys to evaluate and optimize network performance
  • Work within an integrated team of government and contractor personnel to consult on and manage various complex infrastructure projects
  • Install and patch fiber/copper panels across buildings, support operations with configuration and installation
  • Provide wire run lists, fiber patch matrix, and certified copper and fiber test results
  • Conduct signal degradation testing & labeling for all ISP end -to-end copper or fiber network cables
  • Provide weekly reports detailing services provided, status of current tasks (in process or completed by project), and future planned tasks
  • Update and manage assigned tasks in ticketing system
  • Occasionally work non-standard hours to support mission-critical operations and be willing to travel within the U.S. up to 25%

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School or GED equivalent with 1+ year of experience in Data Center Management, Infrastructure Management, or Network Support
  • 1+ years of demonstrated experience terminating, splicing, repairing, and testing Multimode and Singlemode fiber optics and media converters
  • Experience testing and repairing CAT5E and CAT6 copper
  • Experience in using splicers, Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR), and Fluke test equipment
  • Experience installing Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) fiber in building telecommunication closets
  • Experience in administration of switches, servers, distros, and media converters
  • Familiarity with building codes and procedures for installing copper and fiber in various locations such as overheads, raised floors, trailers, and temporary building sites

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications in network infrastructure or related fields
  • Proficiency in network infrastructure documentation
  • Experience with redline drawings for buildings and manhole systems
  • Ability to create, read, and update blueprints and CAD drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work environments

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a current and active Secret security clearance

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to: kneel, stoop, bend, climb ladders and lift materials up to 60 lbs
  • Must be able to work in challenging environments with fall protection (e.g., all weather conditions, elevated platforms, tight spaces, under desks, or in confined spaces)
  • Candidate must have the ability to accurately distinguish colors, hear, and accurately comprehend telephone conversations, radio traffic, and annunciated alarms

The projected compensation range for this position is $65,000.00-$107,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
