ABOUT THE ROLE

Lyric Theatre Company is launching an exciting new program dedicated to breaking down barriers to live theatre. Funded through a grant from the Vermont Community Foundation, this initiative aims to create meaningful theatre experiences and active engagement for community members who may not otherwise have the financial means to attend a performance. We are seeking an Outreach Program Coordinator who is ready to jump in and support the engagement aspect of this program from the ground up. Working closely with our Executive Director, Office staff, and dedicated Lyric volunteers, this role will plan, coordinate, and help execute workshops, activities, behind-the-scenes tours, and collaborative programs with local area non-profit organizations. We are seeking a passionate, self-motivated community builder who believes in the power of live theatre.

DATES & SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS

This project-based role offers a flexible schedule averaging 15 hours per week, with the understanding that hours will fluctuate around engagement activities and productions.

QUALIFICATIONS & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds. Relevant experience may include:

-Project management or program coordination experience (especially within non-profits or community organizations).

-Background in theatre education, arts administration, or community engagement.

-Direct experience working with historically underserved populations, and/or neurodivergent communities.

-Demonstrated experience in partnership building and collaborative event planning.

DESIRED TRAITS

We are seeking a self-starter, who is excited by this opportunity and committed to the sometimes challenging work of launching a new program. The candidate should be organized and comfortable managing multiple moving parts and deadlines without losing sight of the details. The candidate should also be proactive in identifying potential obstacles, creating inclusive environments, and finding creative solutions. Most importantly, we seek someone that is friendly, approachable, and passionate about creating welcoming spaces for all people.
