Job description

SUMMARY:

Provides manicure and/or pedicure services to spa clients in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner.  This will include cleaning, filing, applying artificial nail compounds, and painting the nail surfaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide nail service in a timely manner, utilizing proper techniques and spa provided products for the service requested.
  • Greet each guest warmly upon entering and exiting the spa, using their preferred names on a regular basis.
  • Recommend and sell nail and salon products to guests.
  • Courteously and expediently accommodate all guest requests and follow up to ensure completion of request. 
  • Handle guest complaints and questions, ensuring guest satisfaction. 
  • Disinfect station and service tools, maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift, including transporting soiled linens to the proper areas.
  • Ensure supply rooms and stations are neat and well stocked.
  • Inform the Spa Front Desk Lead of all supply and material needs. 
  • Engage in appropriate and professional conversation with guests as appropriate.
  • Attend all meetings, trainings, and workshops as required by the Spa Director.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be a current Idaho state licensed nail technologist or possess a current Washington state nail technology license and be able to transfer the license to Idaho within 90 days.
  • Must have completed 400 hours of training by an accredited school.
  • It is preferred that the candidate has passed the National Nail Technology exam.
  • One-year previous experience as a licensed Nail Technician preferred.
  • Must have current CPR and first aid certifications or obtain within 6 months of hire. 

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Must have an excellent attendance history free of no call/no show policy violations.
  • Thorough knowledge of all manicures and pedicure treatment deliveries and protocols required. 
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required. 
  • Must be skilled at multitasking.
  • Excellent customer service skills required. 
  • Must be skilled at searching for solutions in differing situations.
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Must work well with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must have a strong understanding/knowledge base of the spa industry, services, and products with an emphasis on all spa and nail salon services offered at the spa.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for up to 8 hours a day; perform a minimum of six treatments per shift; stand; sit; walk; perform repetitive actions; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position will require the individual to work a variety of shifts, often within the same work week, and may require overtime as necessary to fulfill priority tasks.
