Job description

OVERVIEW

Danella, a national utility contractor, is adding Drill Operator/ Locator to its operations. We are seeking experienced Drill operators/locators in the Delaware and Maryland area; compensation based on experience.

  • Company vehicle for applicants aged 21 or older.
  • Experienced in the operation of a directional bore machine and or the use of the locating equipment
  • Knowledge of mud-mixing in different soil conditions
  • All successful candidates will have passed both a DOT physical examination and drug/alcohol screening, along with a background check
  • Must be able to lift at least 90 lbs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pre-trip equipment prior to operation of equipment (Check and maintain fluids in equipment as directed, grease vehicle as directed, load material on equipment and secure as directed, etc.)
  • Safely operate equipment
  • Participate in pre-job JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) daily
  • Report any unsafe conditions to your foreman
  • Operate tools as directed by the foreman
  • Place underground utilities as directed (This would include, but not be limited to, carrying pipe, bags of bentonite, and/or other heavy items, jackhammering, shoveling, tamping, installing pipe, duct, and/or cable)
  • At all times, work in a safe manner
  • Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids to be operated/directed: backhoes, excavators, directional boring machine, jackhammers, chop saws, tampers, rollers, vibratory plates, water pump, air ventilator, gas monitors, and basic hand tools.
