Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Incoming Inspection Supervisor – Optical Comparator / Vision Metrology Location: Blauvelt, NY Employment Type: Contract, 6+ Months Work Model: Onsite Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday Compensation: $50.00–$55.00 per hour Overview Join a global leader in medical diagnostics and laboratory solutions at a major manufacturing and operations site in the Blauvelt, NY area. This role will lead the Incoming Inspection team responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of materials and components used in medical device manufacturing. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily Incoming Inspection activities to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Train personnel on the proper use, calibration, and maintenance of inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Perform and oversee incoming inspection of packaging, chemicals, subassemblies, mechanical, and electrical components in accordance with FDA/GMP requirements and SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality System Regulations (QSR), ISO standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain calibration, cleanliness, and readiness of metrology and inspection equipment.
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools and metrics to optimize inspection performance and productivity.
  • Collaborate with Materials, Engineering, MRB, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues and improve inspection processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of metrology, dimensional inspection, measurement uncertainty, calibration, and quality control methodologies.
  • Experience supporting incoming inspection processes within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficient with measurement software, reporting tools, and computer applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with optical comparators and vision measurement systems, including Starrett HB400, OGP, Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Keyence, or similar metrology equipment.
  • Familiarity with metrology software such as OGP Zone3, Measure-X, MetLogix, Quadra-Chek, or equivalent.
  • Experience with non-contact inspection, multi-sensor metrology, vision systems, and CMMs.
  • Medical device, FDA/GMP, ISO 13485, or other regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
