Job description

CMT is looking for a senior geotechnical engineer who can work in a leadership role within our geotechnical division in Utah.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop proposals and determine cost and schedule for investigations.
  • Provide direction to technical team in field inspection activities.
  • Interact with customers and team members to complete the assigned projects on-time.
  • Evaluate team performance and determine training needs to meet performance objectives.
  • Maintain existing client relationships and develop new client relationships.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies.
  • Plan and conduct geotechnical exploration programs effectively.
  • Perform field and environmental investigations for construction projects.
  • Analyze geotechnical findings, perform appropriate calculations and prepare technical reports for review by other senior geotechnical engineers.
  • Perform basic office administration tasks when needed.

Required Skills:

  • Master of science in Geotechnical Engineering, or related field. โˆ™
  • Minimum ten years of related work experience within the State of Utah.
  • Proficient in soil mechanics.
  • Must have detailed knowledge of both geotechnical and material testing/special inspection services.
  • Must have existing client/revenue base for both geotechnical and material testing/special inspection services.
  • Able to creatively apply engineering principals to solve new problems. โˆ™
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. โˆ™
  • Able to work effectively in teams. โˆ™
  • Valid Utah professional license (P.E.)
