The Proposal Engineer is a dynamic and multifaceted role supporting the sales and service teams by providing technical expertise, preparing detailed proposals, and ensuring exceptional customer engagement. This role involves working across departments to deliver tailored solutions in the energy sector, particularly focused on power transformers and related services.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Develop comprehensive and competitive proposals for power transformer services, including installations, maintenance, and testing.
  • Evaluate project risks and create strategies to mitigate them, ensuring cost efficiency for the customer.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, project management, logistics, and field service) to gather technical information and ensure project feasibility.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the sales team and customers, addressing inquiries and tailoring solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand their requirements, offer technical assistance, and conduct site visits as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a field service technician working with power transformers.
  • 5+ years of experience in transformer services, proposal development, technical sales support, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and tools such as Salesforce.
  • Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn and grow. Collaborative team player with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
