Job description

After Hours Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

What You'll Do

Assess, plan, and provide emergent, urgent and acute primary care in the After Hours Clinic for Grand River Hospital District. Our After Hours Care is a high-quality alternative to the Emergency Department for treating non-threatening illnesses and injuries.

  • Examines patients, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data including health history and results of examinations under the supervision of a physician.
  • Works in collaboration with Physicians to assess the physical needs of patients admitted to the After Hours Clinic.
  • Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to Physicians and other departments.
  • Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment.
  • In addition to clinical duties, participates in quality assurance planning, initiatives, and improvement projects.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Who We're Looking For

Physician Assistant:

  • Requires graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Active Colorado Physician Assistant licensure required.
  • National Physician Assistant certification through NCCPA preferred.
  • Master's Degree in area of specialty preferred.
  • American Heart Association ACLS and PALS certifications are required upon hire and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment.
  • 3 to 5 years working experience in an Emergency Department and/or clinical setting in a similar role preferred.

Nurse Practitioner:

  • Requires active Colorado Licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in area of specialty based on RN licensure and Colorado authority for advanced practice.
  • American Heart Association ACLS and PALS certifications are required upon hire and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment.
  • 3 to 5 years' working experience in an Emergency Department and/or clinical setting in a similar role preferred.
