About the role

As a Technical Content Writer, you will develop in-depth, accurate, and consumable technical content across Odoo’s content marketing pipelines, including: User Documentation, Product Tours, eLearning Tutorials, Paid & Organic Microcontent, and Whitepapers. The emphasis for this role is technical; candidates must demonstrate the ability to understand customer environments and articulate the value of Odoo products.

Writers will learn the ins and outs of the software and become product experts for their scope. You will push/pull documentation markup on GitHub, write scripts for large audiences across eLearning and product tours, and collaborate with other writers, team leads, content producers, and motion designers to bring work to life.

  • Write quality long-form technical guides, whitepapers, eLearning scripts, and product tour videos to educate users and demonstrate business workflows.
  • Independently author new technical support and user documentation; revise and maintain existing content across Odoo versions.
  • Read and write in RST markup and submit documentation using Git; perform content and technical reviews on GitHub.
  • Manage tasks using Odoo Project, adhering to an annual content calendar.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in technical writing, focusing on business applications or software platforms.
  • A portfolio of writing samples demonstrating technical documentation skills.
  • Experience with technical documentation in ERP or SaaS environments.
  • Proficiency with Git/GitHub or similar version control, or willingness to learn.
