NASA's Earth Science Division (ESD) is establishing a Private Sector Engagement Office to increase the visibility, accessibility, utilization, and impact of NASA Earth science data, models, tools, and capabilities across priority private-sector user communities. This effort supports growing demand for Earth observation and geospatial information across sectors including finance, insurance, reinsurance, food and agriculture, energy, utilities, and other industries that depend on trusted environmental information for operational planning, risk management, investment strategy, and decision-making.
Seeking a Principal Education and Outreach Coordinator to serve as the Industry Engagement and Sector Applications Lead supporting the Earth Science Division's Strategic Private Sector Engagement Office. The selected candidate will help establish and operationalize a structured approach for identifying, qualifying, prioritizing, and advancing high-value stakeholder relationships and external engagement opportunities that align with NASA Earth Science Division objectives.
This position will support development and implementation of disciplined stakeholder engagement, sector applications, and user-needs translation activities that connect NASA Earth science capabilities with external user communities. The incumbent will work closely with Earth Science leadership at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), NASA Headquarters, other NASA centers, scientific and technical teams, project offices, partnership organizations, academic institutions, and commercial stakeholders.
The role requires a strategic thinker with strong communication, coordination, stakeholder engagement, and applied science translation skills who can help bridge NASA Earth science capabilities with private-sector needs and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies and sector application approaches for priority private-sector communities

- Support conference participation, workshops, technical exchanges, strategic meetings, and stakeholder events
- Prepare executive summaries, meeting readouts, decision-ready briefings, status reports, and strategic communications
- Track stakeholder interactions, engagement pipelines, partnership activities, and opportunity status using structured coordination and portfolio management tools
- Support development of NASA Earth Science value propositions tailored to sector-specific user needs and decision contexts
- Identify barriers to adoption and recommend approaches to improve accessibility and utilization of NASA Earth science data and capabilities
- Provide regular reporting on sector trends, stakeholder priorities, emerging opportunities, engagement risks, and recommended actions
- Collaborate with scientists, applications teams, partnership offices, and communications personnel to ensure technical accuracy and effective stakeholder engagement
Required Qualifications:
