What You Will Do

As the Senior Designer, you will have a great opportunity to grow into the Creative Director. You will establish Paynuity's creative vision and ensure that every customer-facing touchpoint, digital product, website, print collateral, events, and investor communications, embodies our standards of precision, security, and forward-thinking design. You will pair hands-on design expertise with strategic leadership, guiding projects from concept through execution while continually raising our visual bar.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, the Creative Director leads Paynuity's Marketing & Brand function. You will own brand strategy, drive cross-functional creative initiatives, mentor internal and external talent, and work closely with Product to deliver intuitive, on-brand UX/UI experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Leadership

  • Define and maintain brand standards for visual identity, tone, and messaging.
  • Conduct regular brand audits to ensure alignment across all assets.

Creative Direction & Execution

  • Develop sophisticated visual concepts for campaigns, product launches, and thought-leadership pieces.
  • Create, update, and refine high-stakes collateral-especially investor decks and executive PowerPoint presentations-ensuring data accuracy, narrative clarity, and brand consistency.

PowerPoint & Collateral Expertise

  • Serve as the primary designer for investor and board presentations in PowerPoint and Google Slides, translating complex financial and product data into clear, compelling visuals.

UX/UI Stewardship & WordPress Management

  • Own the design and continuous enhancement of Paynuity's WordPress site, collaborating with Engineering to implement and test updates.
  • Translate payment workflows into intuitive, accessible UI components in Figma.

Team & Vendor Management

  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate designers; scope and oversee freelance and agency engagements.
  • Manage creative budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales on campaign assets, with Leadership on investor materials, and with Legal on trademark protection and brand compliance.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor design and fintech trends, proposing enhancements that strengthen Paynuity's market presence and customer experience.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive design experience, including 2+ years leading creative teams (agency or in-house).
  • Demonstrated mastery of PowerPoint for executive-level presentations and investor communications.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and WordPress (Elementor or comparable page builders).
  • Portfolio showcasing sophisticated, data-driven collateral (e.g., investor decks) and intuitive UX/UI solutions.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on design execution in fast-moving environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

  • Experience in fintech, SaaS, or other regulated-industry sectors.
  • Familiarity with WCAG/Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Motion-graphics or basic video-editing capabilities.
  • SEO-aware copywriting or content-strategy experience.
  • Photography or custom-illustration skills.

Additional Information

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Eastern)
  • Compensation Range: $80,000 - $110,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
