We are currently seeking Caregivers for our newly created TRAIL program. TRAIL stands for Timber Ridge Assistance in Living. It is a newly licensed Home Care Agency. As a life care community, Timber Ridge at Talus makes aging in place simple. Our residents have options to support them as health needs change, and our brand-new home care program, TRAIL, is an important part of the care and services provided on our campus. Who you are:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of employment experience as a home care aid or a personal care aide with a current CNA/HCA/NAR
  • First Aid & CPR Certified
  • Food Handlers Certified
  • Experience working with cognitive decline or dementia preferred
  • Fluent in both verbal and written English
  • Professional and high ethical standards
  • Communicates effectively and creates positive relationships

General Summary:
The TRAIL Caregivers provide personal care and household assistance to clients in their own residence. The clients work under the supervision of the Administrator, Home Care Supervisor, or designee and is assigned specific tasks through the home care plan of care.
Essential Job Duties:
  1. Follows the home care plan of care developed by the agency.
  2. Assists clients with personal care, which may include bathing, shampooing, shaving, toileting, dressing, transfers, ambulation, and positioning.
  3. Performs household services essential to the client's safety and care including laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation, and shopping.
  4. Performs only the tasks assigned in the home care plan of care for clients and observes, documents, and reports any changes in the clients' condition. May assist with medications as indicated in the home care plan of care, and agency policy.
  5. Reports to the Administrator or designee any changes in the clients mental or physical condition as well as changes in the client's need for care.
  6. Follows agencies policies and procedures.
  7. Respects the rights of clients, families, or client representatives to have different beliefs, opinions, cultures, and customs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to see, hear and communicate effectively with residents and staff. May be required to work up to two weekends per month. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting. May be exposed to blood and body fluids which may contain HIV and/or HBV. Must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, gerichair, or shower chair, pushing up to 150 pounds unassisted. Must be able to transfer, life, turn, and position a resident weighing over 125 pounds. Must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, squat, stand, and walk for up to 90% of the workday. May be subjected to offensive odors and/or combative behavior. Must be able to reach up to a level of six feet.
