Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and flexible Daycare Floater to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will provide supportive coverage across various classrooms, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children of different ages. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, supporting classroom staff and contributing to the development and well-being of young learners. The Daycare Floater must be adaptable, attentive, and committed to fostering positive experiences for children with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage in multiple classrooms as needed, assisting lead teachers and staff with daily activities
  • Support children’s developmental needs through engaging play, learning activities, and supervision
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance to promote a positive environment
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times by adhering to safety protocols and policies
  • Help with diapering, feeding, and nap routines for infants and toddlers
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and spaces
  • Support children with special needs or disabilities by implementing individualized care plans when necessary
  • Participate in ongoing training related to early childhood education, first aid, and behavior management

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must obtain a CDA, or child education degree.
  • Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings preferred
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques
  • Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Experience with infants, toddlers, or children with special needs is highly desirable
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and adapt to changing classroom needs
  • Strong communication skills and a caring attitude towards children and families
  • Prior experience in caregiving, nannying, babysitting, or teaching is advantageous
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts within the daycare hours; reliability is essential
