Role Description The Nanofabrication Technician role is based in Knoxville, TN. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting the fabrication, testing, and optimization of nanochannels and related nanostructures used in the companyโ€™s optical sequencing platform. This may involve operating cleanroom and laboratory equipment, preparing substrates, performing lithography and etching processes, and assisting with process development and documentation. The technician will collect and analyze fabrication data, maintain detailed records of experiments, and collaborate closely with scientists and engineers to refine device performance. Additional tasks may include inventory management of fabrication materials, adherence to safety protocols, and participation in troubleshooting and continuous improvement of nanofabrication workflows.

Qualifications

  • Nanofabrication and microfabrication skills, including experience with lithography, etching, thin-film deposition, or related semiconductor/ MEMS processes.
  • Hands-on experience working in a cleanroom or advanced laboratory environment, with strong adherence to standard operating procedures and safety practices.
  • Basic understanding of nanotechnology, materials science, or device physics relevant to nanochannels and nanostructures.
  • Competence in data collection, documentation, and use of scientific tools (e.g., microscopes, metrology instruments, laboratory software) to evaluate fabrication outcomes.
