Job description

A welcoming, multi-generational family seeks a super-engaged Mother's Help/Nanny to start ASAP.  The usual schedule will be Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm, and please be aware that the parents are likely around for most of the time, and enjoy being hands on!


The successful candidate will be comfortable in a shared care environment and will have prior experience with toddlers (she is currently 17-months-old).  Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a warm and loving environment that encourages social, emotional, physical and intellectual development
  • Researching and taking the child to fun, educational and enriching local classes and playgroups
  • Light housekeeping pertaining to the baby, including laundry and ironing, and keeping associated areas very clean and tidy
  • Potty-training, when the time comes!
  • Helping with the morning and evening routines, encouraging healthy sleep habits
  • All aspects of toddler care including feeding, nap schedules, evening routines etc
  • Working closely with Mom, offering guidance, support, and up-to-date knowledge
  • Engaging child in creative, imaginative, and developmentally appropriate play
  • Supporting emotional regulation, communication, manners, and boundaries in a warm but firm manner
  • Working collaboratively with parents and other staff
  • Supporting transitions, changes in routine, and evolving family needs

  • Confident drivers preferred
  • Strong understanding of milestones and development
  • Professional, polished but with a warm, considerate and caring personality
  • Calm, confident, and comfortable holding age-appropriate boundaries
  • Able to partner effectively with family members and other household staff
  • Able to engage with the children at their level, and encourage learning through play and exploration 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organised and very tidy
