Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified Welding Inspector with advanced certifications in welding inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel inspection, welding quality control, and multiple NDT methods, ensuring compliance with industry codes and project specifications.


Required Certifications & Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) (current or recently renewed) 
  • ASNT NDT Level III Certification (Ultrasonic Testing & Magnetic Particle Testing) 
  • Certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) – Level II/III 
  • ICC Structural Welding Special Inspector
  • ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of welded assemblies to ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, and project specifications
  • Conduct and/or oversee NDT methods including UT, MT, and PT
  • Interpret radiographic and ultrasonic test results
  • Verify welder qualifications and welding procedures (WPS/PQR)
  • Maintain inspection documentation and reports
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field crews
  • Ensure all work meets applicable safety and quality standards


Preferred Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of welding inspection and NDT experience
  • Experience working with structural steel, piping, or heavy civil construction
  • Strong understanding of ASNT SNT-TC-1A standards
  • Prior experience in a Level III or supervisory NDT role preferred
