Strong knowledge of SD-WAN architecture, design, and integration
Hands-on experience in Fortinet and/or Versa
Deep networking fundamentals:
TCP/IP
Routing/switching
BGP, OSPF
NAT, VPN, VRF, ACLs
Overlay / underlay concepts
Ability to produce and maintain:
HLD / LLD
Configuration templates
Design standards
Migration / onboarding runbooks
Experience with:
Multi-site WAN design
Security policy integration
High availability and redundancy
Cloud connectivity / internet breakout
Segmentation and service insertion
Good troubleshooting and validation capability across branch, hub, and controller/orchestrator components
Exposure to automation/API-based configuration management is a plus
Onsite Network Engineering Lead should additionally have
Architecture leadership and customer workshop capability
Design governance and technical approval responsibility
Strong communication with Verizon architecture and operations teams
