Volt is immediately hiring for NDT Radiography Tech in Decatur, IL
As a NDT Radiography Tech you will:
  • The NDT Radiography Technician provide inspections using a variety of nondestructive evaluation methods. The technician performs receiving, in- process, and outgoing quality audits to validate cast and fabricated structures per weld engineering and manufacturing specifications. Individual is responsible for tracking and entering inspection results in electronic databases. The technician would be based in the production factory but could also include some travel to support off-site testing as required to support manufacturing or clients in the field.
    • Additional responsibilities include compliance to all safety and lab procedures.
    • Lab equipment validation
    • Computed radiography to ASTM e2033
    • Accurate and prompt project time keeping (Web time and Volt timekeeping Systems)
    • Communicate lab results on rejections and non-conformances with urgency to Met Lab Team Leader
    • Monthly reporting of lab efficiency and work accomplishments.
    • Responsible for containment of non-conforming material by tagging suspect parts found by lab inspections.
    • Responsible for determining equipment and procedure needs and identifying potential solutions.
    • Maintaining 5S of radiation labs, equipment and office area.
    • Additional responsibilities include compliance to all safety, regulatory, security, and lab specific procedure requirements.
    • Follow direction of Radiation Safety Officer
    • Review test results and reports with Radiation Safety Officer
  • Job Requirements:
    • Individuals must be responsible, team-oriented, self-motivated, and possess good time management skills.
    • Individuals need to be detail oriented, dedicated to upholding quality standards, and adaptable to an ever-changing work environment.
    • Excellent work ethic, initiative, and a positive attitude are required.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills,
    • Professional conflict management skills
    • Ability to adapt to the demands of supporting a high velocity manufacturing environment is critical.
    • The individual must have basic computer skills including MSWord, Excel, and the ability to learn the shop system.
    • Individual must possess a high school degree; associates degree is preferred.
    • Knowledge of metallurgy or materials science concepts and ISO 9001/17025 is desirable.
    • Individuals with ASNT - Level I or Level II certification are preferred.
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and following written audit guidelines.
    • Must train new employees as directed by the team leader
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
    • 40 hrs. Industrial Radiation Safety Training
    • Radioactive Materials Experience - 200 hrs.
    • Radiation Machines Experience - 120 hrs.
    • Successful Certification Examination Completion

This is a Full Time, Contract opportunity.
Shift: 2nd or 3rd shift
Pay Rate: $26- $30 per hour
