Job Description

NBC6 and Telemundo 51 are looking for a Multiplatform Producer/MMJ to create and present original videos, segments and shows created for linear, FAST streaming, OTT and other platforms. We are looking for a journalist with a proven ability to create videos that are shareable and are relevant to an audience on any platform.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is full of ideas, bilingual (English/Spanish), can appear on camera and can take a project, big or small, from concept to completion.

The role requires being able to write, produce, record and edit video as well as move seamlessly from one platform to the next as necessary.  You will need to work closely with lifestyle programming leadership and producers to select the most compelling and relevant stories for the duopoly.  
Responsibilities:

  • Find opportunities to present or produce lifestyle content for the duopoly on linear and our streaming channels using either our VMix or linear control room.
  • Produce content for our streaming channels in English and Spanish, re-purposing content or creating segments or programs either live or recorded.
  • Pitch, edit and post digital-first video products using repurposed content and find the best ways to promote and expand exposure of this content on social, digital and OTT platforms.
  • Pitch, produce and appear in live or taped shows and specials on linear, streaming, OTT and social media.
  • Help grow social media accounts for lifestyle shows, station and individuals.
  • Participate in regular show editorial meetings to identify content.
  • Ensure good content is shared with duopoly partners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, media or equivalent experience.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience as a reporter for TV, streaming or digital platforms.
  • Experience editing videos on tight deadlines.
  • Experience editing in Adobe Premiere.
  • Exceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for digital attention.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Ability to broadcast and write English and Spanish.
  • Experience in recording and editing video for TV and digital.

 Eligibility Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in television production.
  • B.A. degree or equivalent in areas such as Journalism & Communications, or related field.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadlines.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule which could include overtime, nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be willing to work at the station's Miramar location.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
