Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Rehab team!
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) can provide basic nursing care to patients under the general supervision of a registered nurse, and delegated nursing and medical acts beyond basic nursing care under the direct supervision of the registered nurse.
According to the Wisconsin Administrative Code, Chapter N6 Board of Nursing Standard of Practice for Licensed Practice Nurse:
  • Basic nursing care is that which can be performed following a defined nursing procedure with minimal modification in which the responses of the patient to the nurse care is predictable.
  • General supervision means regularly coordinating, directing and inspecting the practice of another.
  • Direct supervision means immediately available to continually coordinate, direct and inspect the practice of another.

Hours: Part-Time or .6 FTE, 48 hours every pay period. Night Only. Every 3rd weekend/holiday
Experience/Qualifications
  • Knowledge of patient care standards is normally acquired through graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program.
  • Successful completion of an IV therapy and pharmacology course.
  • Previous experience beneficial.
  • Current Wisconsin LPN licensure, or application made and awaiting results.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).
