Overview

The Senior Informatics Solutions Engineer will provide programming leadership and technical support for clinical application systems with development and maintenance of projects. This will include leadership and expertise of programs and systems related to the electronic health record and other clinical applications and software that support clinical care. This role has a commitment to clinical staff and departments, as well as across the Health Informatics and Technology (HIT) division and the Information Technology (IT) department to provide up to date expertise and knowledge of the applications and software with technical expertise on the changes and modifications needed to solve issues. The Senior Informatics Solutions Engineer provides technical support and leadership for HIT analysts and leads medium size projects and/or technology initiatives through all phases of systems development including planning, development, implementation and operation for complex computer projects as the technical subject matter expert in collaboration with the project manager while supporting the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Children's Mercy and the IT Department. This role will create and update system documentation including diagrams, technical schema, and project related documents and will work with the Senior Directors of HIT to keep them aware of changes or updates to the software systems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Required in Health Informatics or related field and 5-7 years experience Experience in the Healthcare field of IT and management skills along with programming would be considered for this position. or
  • Master's Degree Preferred and 3-5 years experience Experience in the Healthcare field of IT and management skills along with programming would be considered for this position.
  • Employees must obtain Certified Prof. in Health Information & Mgmt or equivalent within 365 days
  • At least one application-specific Epic certification relevant to the department (determined by role leadership) Required within 120 days of hire. Must complete Epic certification training if not already Epic certified in the most recent version of the Epic EHR product. Tracked by department leadership. Required
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems [CPHIMS (HIMSS)] Preferred
  • MyChart Certification, MyChart Bedside, Welcome and Hello World experience preferred

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $41.57/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
