Mountain View Community Church in Snohomish, WA is looking for a Student Minitries Pastor.

We are looking for a candidate who is

  • radically devoted to the way of Jesus

  • gospel and mission focused

  • able to engage in tough cultural and theological issues and dialogue while modeling a commitment to grace and truth

  • able to inspire, teach, and equip the next generation of kingdom minded Christians.

We want our students to:

  • have regular opportunities to hear the gospel and be encouraged to believe.

  • learn to know and tell the basic story of the Bible.

  • understand the essential elements of Christianity.

  • be equipped to engage their fellow students with the gospel.

Qualifications

  • All MVCC staff are expected to maintain a vibrant walk with Christ, establish healthy rhythms of life, support the vision, staff, and leaders in the church, demonstrate Christ-like character at all gatherings and in their personal life, receive instruction with humility, and be committed to resolving conflict in a biblical manner.

  • Bible College, seminary, or equivalent are a plus but not required.

  • A demonstrated heart for middle school and high school students.

  • Experience in church leadership is a plus but not required.

  • Applicant must exhibit the spiritual qualifications (where applicable) of an elder as defined in 1 Tim 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Pet 5:1-3.

Responsibilities

  • Build Christ-centered relationships with students.

  • Mobilize a team of student leaders.

  • Mobilize a team of adult leaders as needed.

  • Meet with parents outside of regular events as needed.

  • Lead weekly Youth Events

  • Tuesday Night

  • Establish a gospel centric discipleship program in line with the vision and values of MVCC

  • Lead the leaders meeting

  • Mobilize small group leaders

  • Mobilize volunteer support as needed

  • Sunday Morning

  • Plan, lead, and serve as primary Bible teacher

  • Mobilize a leader and support team

  • Special Event Planning (Summer Camps, etc.)

  • utilize Planning Center for service planning

  • utilize “People” to maintain attendance at youth events and to assimilate new students into the ministry

  • submit staff reports

  • coordinate youth building needs with other church events

  • meet regularly with the Pastor to collaborate in vision and strategy

Reporting Structure

  • All MVCC staff report directly to the lead pastor, secondarily to the governing board, and ultimately to Christ.

  • There is freedom to lead in new directions and utilize new methods so long as all of this is in line with the vision and values of the church and sound biblical teaching.
