Job description

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated, technically strong and collaborative professional to join Global Fund Finance as a Senior Fund Administrator. This individual will play a key role in strengthening Lord Abbett’s risk-based fund oversight model across financial reporting, regulatory reporting, NAV oversight, service-provider governance, and strategic fund initiatives.

The successful candidate will be expected to operate as a senior member of the Fund Treasury team, bringing strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, analytical discipline and the ability to work effectively across internal teams, service providers, auditors and other stakeholders.

We’ll trust you to:
  • Fund Treasury oversight and governance:
    • Support and enhance a robust, risk-based fund oversight model across U.S. mutual funds, interval funds, offshore/UCITS vehicles and other fund structures, as applicable.
    • Perform and/or oversee analytical reviews of fund operations, including daily and monthly NAV oversight, fund expenses, distributions, borrowing/leverage facilities, reconciliations, and other key fund administration controls.
    • Oversee State Street and Brown Brothers Harriman (accounting agents) in administering the day-to-day operations of the funds including overseeing NAV calculations and reviews of key reconciliations.
    • Coordinate and/or review fund-of-fund trade activity
  • Financial and regulatory reporting:
    • Lead or support risk-based reviews of fund financial statements, tailored shareholder reports and related disclosure documents.
    • Review fund-related SEC filings, which may include Forms N-PORT, N-CEN, N-CSR, N-MFP, prospectuses, Statements of Additional Information and other regulatory filings.
    • Support disclosure controls and procedures in connection with Principal Financial Officer/Principal Executive Officer certifications.
  • Strategic initiatives and product support:
    • Support new product launches, fund reorganizations, mergers, liquidations, share class launches, fee changes and other product or business initiatives.
  • Process improvement, automation and scalability
    • Assist in the identification of opportunities to streamline, standardize and automate manual or duplicative processes across Fund Treasury.
    • Help build dashboards, metrics, exception reporting, workflow tools, issue trackers and reporting routines that improve transparency and accountability.
You’ll need to have:
  • 5-10+ years of relevant experience in asset management, mutual fund administration, fund accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, fund audit and/or related fund oversight roles.
  • Working knowledge of registered investment companies and U.S. GAAP for investment companies, with a desire to continue developing technical expertise.
  • Experience supporting or reviewing fund financial statements, tailored shareholder reports, SEC filings and/or disclosure controls.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify issues, assess risk, evaluate downstream implications and recommend practical solutions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a cross functional team.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly.
  • Proficiency with Excel; experience with Power BI, data analytics, dashboarding, workflow tools or automation initiatives preferred.
