Position Summary

Join the Sunbelt Pawn Team! We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Sales/Loan Associate to join our growing team. As a pawnbroker, you'll play a key role in assisting customers with buying, selling, and loaning on a wide range of merchandise -- from electronics and jewelry to tools and musical instruments. This role operates within established guidelines to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient service at all times.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner, building rapport with every guest
  • Evaluate and appraise merchandise presented for pawn loans or outright purchase
  • Process pawn loans, extensions, redemptions, and forfeitures in compliance with OCCC regulations
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, including Form 4473 for firearm transactions
  • Maintain knowledge of current market values for jewelry, electronics, tools, firearms, and other merchandise
  • Maintain product displays and merchandise organization on the sales floor
  • Educate customers on product features and store policies
  • Process cash transactions and maintain an accurate cash drawer
  • Adhere to all company policies, loss prevention procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Report any compliance concerns, discrepancies, or incidents to management promptly

Requirements

  • Retail or customer service experience preferred (pawn or jewelry experience is a plus)
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be dependable, honest, and a team player
