Job description

Trustbridge Hospice, a member of Empath Health is seeking a caring and compassionate Music Therapist.
Since 1978, Trustbridge Hospice has cared for more than 200,000 South Florida families. As a community-based nonprofit, we provide 24/7 hospice and palliative care, along with caregiver support and bereavement services for families facing serious illness.
What you'll Do
  • The Music Therapist collaborates with the IDT to implement a plan of care for patients, families and pediatrics, with the approval of the physician, utilizing music therapy
  • This position provides supportive social services and bereavement services as determined by the patient/family needs and the interdisciplinary Plan of Care.
  • Demonstrate a music performing proficiency and ability to create an effective therapeutic environment for Patient/Family.
  • Provide Music therapy and documents Patient/Family assessment, progress towards goals, applied interventions and clinical outcomes in the electronic medical record according to professional standards and Empath Health guidelines,
  • Attends memorial services of patients for closure and support of family when appropriate.

What You'll Need
  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Music Therapy from four-year College or university required. Minimum of two (2) years paid experience in music therapy preferred.
  • Credentialed as a Music Therapist - Board Certified (MT-BC);
  • Continuing Education: As required for licensure.
  • Music performing proficiency and ability to create an effective therapeutic environment for Patient/Family.
  • For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation, which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee's HR file.
