Position Summary

The Admissions Videographer will capture and create video content that drives digital engagement among prospective Elon University students, their families, and school/independent counselors. Working closely with University Communications and taking direction from Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid, this person's work will help advance the institution's enrollment goals through enhanced digital engagement across various platforms. The work produced by this role will also support the enrollment efforts at our Queens campus in Charlotte, NC. This role will be based on Elon's main campus in Elon, NC, and 75% of your work will be focused on Elon-based initiatives. This person's work will also support content creation for our Queens campus in Charlotte, NC. This will account for 25% of the work, and this person will be expected to travel to Queens as needed.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in communications, cinema & television arts, broadcast journalism or related field and at least two years of professional experience in videography or filmmaking.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience in developing and creating compelling video content for use on multiple platforms.
Project management and organizational skills with experience balancing multiple projects and deadlines at one time.
Experience of video production, including but not limited to shooting, non-linear editing, color correction and audio editing.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.)
Significant experience with Macintosh operating systems.
Demonstrated self-direction, initiative and follow-through and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Job Duties

  • Content Creation Create meaningful long- and short-form videos to enhance digital engagement and connections with prospective students, their families, and school/independent counselors. Coordinate the conceptualization, planning, capturing, editing preproduction, production and postproduction of videos, including but not limited to conceptual development via storyboarding, script writing/editing, staging, audio recording, directing talent and camera work and subsequent video editing. Capture creative content that reflects the value of the Elon student experience that supports recruitment, campus visit and event programming, email and social media campaigns, website landing pages, the university's presence on third-party college search sites like Niche and the Acorn Account, the university's enrollment portal. Work closely with Admissions leadership and University Communications to produce work that drives stronger conversion rates across each stage of the enrollment process, specifically those highlighted in the divisional priorities. Ability to think strategically to align content with university and admissions goals. Ensure all content aligns with university brand and accessibility standards while introducing innovative, creative approaches to storytelling.
  • Operations Maintain a digital catalog of video content and completed projects.
