Job description

Serve as a marching band technician for an area of the Liberty University Marching Band.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Participate in marching band leadership meetings and events.

2. Assist director in teaching music during band camp.

3. Assistant director in teaching drill during band camp.

4. Attend each rehearsal during the Fall Semester as marching & music tech.

5. Attend each performance, local and travel.

6. Participate in all band social functions.

7. Participate in recruitment of new members.

8. Responsible for instrument and equipment maintenance.

9. Assist with ordering equipment.

10. Work with the director and section leaders regarding the following: teach, adjust and tune performance during rehearsals; teach and adjust marching technique of assigned section; design and teach visuals for assigned section; determine warm-up music and tuning; teach stands music; oversee consistent performer involvement regarding "stands music" during football games.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

Four-year college degree. Detail Oriented with strong well-developed communications skills and ability to work independently. Must be a self starter.
