Do you love helping young people discover their voice through music, rhythm, and performance?


Miami Children's Museum is seeking a creative and engaging Music Teaching Artist to join Mini Masters Live, our advanced afterschool arts program at Henry E.S Reeves K-8 Center! This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about music education and enjoys helping students create, perform, and share original work.


As part of our interdisciplinary arts team, you'll guide students through songwriting, beat-making, music production, performance preparation, and collaborative creative projects while fostering confidence, creativity, and artistic growth.


What You'll Do

  • Lead music instruction for students in grades 3โ€“8 in areas such as rhythm, songwriting, beat-making, DJ fundamentals, and music production.
  • Guide students in creating original music, lyrics, and performance pieces.
  • Support students through the creative process from concept development to final performance.
  • Prepare students for weekly showcases, performances, and collaborative arts projects.
  • Encourage creativity, confidence, teamwork, and artistic expression through music.
  • Collaborate with fellow teaching artists to support interdisciplinary programming and performances.
  • Participate in rehearsals, planning meetings, showcases, and special events.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching music, music production, performing arts, or related disciplines.
  • Strong background in music performance, songwriting, production, DJing, or music education.
  • Experience working with children or youth in educational, community, or performance-based settings.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for youth arts education and helping students develop creatively and artistically.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to support performances and special events.


Schedule

Part-Time Afterschool Position

  • Mondayโ€“Friday, approximately 2:00 PM โ€“ 6:00 PM
  • Additional hours may be required for rehearsals, showcases, performances, and special events
