JOB SUMMARY

As a Principal Software Developer - Storage Engineering, you will design, develop, and optimize high-performance storage software for Linux-based environments. You will contribute to the evolution of distributed storage solutions, cloud integration, and platform modernization while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, you will provide deep technical expertise in the development of next-generation storage platforms and infrastructure.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and implement high-performance storage system components and services in C++ for Linux-based environments with integration into cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop low-level storage software components and system services with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Design and implement solutions for distributed storage systems, data management, and cloud-based storage architectures.
  • Design and document technical solutions and software architectures based on functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Integrate storage platforms with cloud services, including AWS services such as Amazon S3, while maintaining efficient local system performance.
  • Contribute to platform modernization initiatives, including cloud migration, Linux platform upgrades, and next-generation storage platform development.
  • Develop and evaluate containerized solutions and platform prototypes to support evolving product requirements.
  • Develop cross-platform components where required, ensuring compatibility across Linux and Windows environments.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues across application, operating system, networking, storage, and cloud interaction layers.
  • Optimize system performance, memory usage, I/O throughput, and resource utilization in production environments.
  • Produce clear technical documentation, including architecture designs, interface definitions, implementation specifications, and troubleshooting guides.

WHAT YOU CAN DELIVER:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in C++ and systems programming in Linux environments.
  • Proven experience designing and developing high-performance, scalable, and reliable software systems, preferably in storage, distributed systems, or infrastructure platforms.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, concurrency, memory management, networking concepts, and performance optimization.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex issues across application, OS, storage, and cloud layers.
  • Experience designing technical solutions, producing architecture documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Proficiency with modern software development practices, including Git-based workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing enterprise storage platforms, distributed storage systems, or large-scale data management solutions.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services such as Amazon S3, and cloud migration initiatives.
  • Experience with performance optimization of storage systems, including I/O throughput, scalability, and resource utilization.
  • Experience with Docker, containerized environments, and infrastructure automation tools such as CloudFormation.
  • Experience developing cross-platform software for Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and contributing to open-source projects.

Salary Range: MIN 185,848.80 to MAX 278,773.20 PLN/Annual
