We are looking for Master-Level Creative Arts (MUSIC, DANCE MOVEMENT, ART, ETC.,) Therapists who are willing to share their talents in order to explore the many avenues to healing.

This opportuntity offers varied PRN/Per Diem schedule and hours preferably on weekends for day shift. 

Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Position Summary:

Responsibilites:

  • Deliver quality recreational and expressive therapies according to patient treatment program.
  • Develop and implement expressive therapy treatment plans that are age appropriate, and consistent with overall treatment goals.
  • Facilitates patient groups that are well prepared and beneficial to clients.
  • Maintain the clinical and administrative documentation associated with performed services
  • Initiates emergency measures according to age appropriate CPR and client resuscitation protocols.
  • Participates in emergency crisis interventions according to age appropriate techniques.
  • Maintains confidentiality related to patient, family, client facility and staff in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
    Provides patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.

  • Master's degree in Creative Arts, Recreation, Music or Dance Movement Therapy.
  • Previous experience in Behavioral Health preferred.
  • CPR certification and Completion of Handle With Care training within 90 days of employment.
