Round Hill Music is a global, creative music publishing company with offices in Nashville, New York, and London. Beyond core publishing, we operate a robust music production library and offer premier sync and copyright administration services. We are dedicated to providing world-class client service, championing great songs, and maximizing the value of every track we represent.
We are looking for a Nashville-based candidate who is interested in the music business and copyright administration. This temporary hybrid role focuses on ensuring Round Hill Music's works are accurately registered, claimed, and licensed. The primary responsibility is registering our catalog with the U.S. Copyright Office, alongside providing short-term team support.
Primary Responsibilities
• Register copyrights with the United States Copyright Office
• Enter compositions and metadata into iMaestro
• Research copyright inquiries and resolve counterclaims
• Register works via CWR to ensure that CMOs receive Round Hill's proper rights information
• Perform data checks at CMOs and track the status of ongoing registrations and claims
• Correspond with CMOs and publishers to resolve counterclaims or registration issues.
• Assist with research, review and interpretation of publishing agreements, providing documentation to The MLC to document Round Hill's claims as part of MLC Dispute Policy
• Respond to label copy requests by verifying Round Hill's mechanical claims
• Submit company claims to the MDX portal, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant guidelines.
• Draft and execute mechanical licenses for releases written by Round Hill's writers'
• Manage the addition of recording information to Round Hill's internal database based on mechanical licenses
• ISRC matching, maintenance and data clean-up at the MLC and Spotify
• Handle ad-hoc projects as business needs dictate or as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
• One year experience at a music publishing company and/or record label (internship experience included)
• Excellent research skills, along with proficiency using electronic filing and registration systems, databases, and other digital tools
• Ability to manage confidential and deadline driven workflows
• Competency with Microsoft Office 365
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Positive attitude, and eagerness to learn and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment while juggling multiple tasks and priorities
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Bachelor's degree in music business or related field (Preferred)
