Show Choir – Music Express Choreographer

Position: Show Choir – Music Express Choreographer

Reports To: Director of Fine & Performing Arts

Position Type: Stipend

Position Summary: Designs and teaches choreography while supporting staging and performance quality. This position supports the district's music program by leading performance ensembles and co-curricular activities while promoting high standards of musicianship, inclusion, collaboration, and school spirit.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct regular rehearsals.
  • Select appropriate repertoire that supports diverse and inclusive programming.
  • Coordinate logistics for performances, festivals, competitions, and community events.
  • Collaborate with Fine & Performing Arts staff and administrators.
  • Supervise students and maintain a safe, respectful rehearsal environment.
  • Provide artistic leadership, including staging and choreography when appropriate.
  • Support recruitment and alignment of district music programs.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Fine & Performing Arts.

Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts educator license in Music preferred or relevant experience appropriate to the assignment.
  • Experience directing student ensembles.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Availability for rehearsals, performances, and evening/weekend events as required.

Terms of Employment: Stipend position. Work schedule is determined by the rehearsal and performance calendar. Compensation Per the WEA Contract.
