Education/ Qualifications:
  • Have two or more years of college in music (or related field), or equivalent years of related experience in a chapel/church setting.
  • Must possess a broad knowledge of Contemporary music, Contemporary and blended style of Praise and Worship music, and how to lead a worship service in Contemporary worship style.
  • Be able to plan organize and lead a Protestant contemporary and blended style praise team.
  • Must possess a detailed knowledge of Contemporary music and appropriate ability to perform tasks such as sight-reading sheet music for piano, play from chord charts and vocal means.
  • Must have a general understanding and support Christian Protestant theology while working in a pluralistic environment in which the worship service is under the direction of the lead Protestant Worship Service Chaplain.
  • Must be proficient at individual singing, playing piano/keyboard or guitar, and leading congregational singing in a Contemporary Christian musical style, Contemporary Christian musical genre.

Duties:
  • Provide musical directorship for the Protestant Service at Wright Patterson AFB.
  • Provide musical directorship for a minimum of one rehearsal and one worship service each week.
  • Follow directions of the Protestant Service Chaplain for music selection.
  • Lead the praise team and congregation in worship and vocally lead them as required by the Chaplain.
  • Assist the Chaplain or their designated representative in developing as appropriate: annual calendar of events, Chapel Tithes and Offerings fund budget, Appropriated Fund budget, and volunteer training requirements under music programming.
