Immediate W2 contract position available in Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA.
Estimated Duration: 1 year
Job Description / Desired Qualifications:
WORK LOCATION, SCHEDULE, & TRAVEL:

  • This position will be based out of Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL
  • This position will require some travel (day and overnight, up to 50%).


POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Project Manager will lead the coordination, execution, and successful implementation of projects focused on improving the management and integrity of Generation assets.
  • Working under the Operations Data team, this role will manage specific asset data documentation projects for new generation sites and remediation efforts for existing generation sites including managing plant walkdowns, drawing updates, P&ID reviews including CAD work, asset equipment Identification, numbering, & labeling, project planning and scheduling, budget tracking, and O&M procedure reviews between the plant and vendors.
  • This position requires strong project management, communication, and organizational skills to ensure that all activities—from planning through implementation—are executed effectively, on schedule, and within scope.
  • The Project Manager will serve as the central point of contact for project coordination among engineering, operations, supply chain, asset management, technology and vendors.
  • This position requires Heavy Industrial experience and knowledge, preferably in the Utility Industry.


KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

Project Coordination & Implementation:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities to meet defined objectives and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, project budget, and resource allocations.
  • Facilitate project meetings, track action items, and ensure alignment among internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Monitor progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate the transition from current site documentation to standardized documentation and oversee implementation activities.
  • Support end-user training, adoption, and change management efforts to ensure successful implementation.


Project Objectives:

  • Enhance asset documentation accuracy, completeness, and quality to enable better decision-making.
  • Improve usability and accessibility of site documentation across departments and business units.
  • Leverage technology to establish a strong foundation for data management and governance.
  • Implement a comprehensive Data Strategy plan that includes Governance, Controls, and Remediation and uphold company data and procedure standards.


Project Deliverables:

  • Conduct assessments of existing site documentation (drawings, procedures, asset identification).
  • Identify and document business requirements for completion of the project.
  • Document input and requirements from key stakeholders (engineering, supply chain, projects, asset management, operations, maintenance, and technology).
  • Implement data governance policies, procedures, and roles to maintain integrity and consistency of project documentation.
  • Execute the transition plan and oversee implementation of the new project documentation.
  • Provide training, communication, and support to ensure smooth adoption of new documentation and tools.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Job Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years previous power plant, power delivery, renewables, and/or heavy industrial experience is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or a similar role is required.
  • Experience working within the Renewable Generation sector, specifically Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hydro Generation sites, and/or Solar Generation sites is a plus.
  • Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field is a plus.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical design exp is a plus.
  • CAD Developer Certified is a plus.

  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex projects, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and drive implementation from planning through completion.
  • Technical Process Knowledge: Understanding of power plant and utility systems to effectively scope and execute projects.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with customers, leadership, and technical teams.
  • Documentation & Organization: Strong attention to detail in maintaining project documentation, schedules, and procedures.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical and solution-oriented mindset to address challenges and maintain project momentum.
  • Microsoft Proficiency: Advanced skills with Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, Teams, Project, Sharepoint, etc.).
  • Customer Focus: Commitment to delivering high-quality service and responsiveness to stakeholder needs.
