Job description

Middle School/High School Piano Accompanist (Full-Time)

Landmark Christian School is seeking a full-time Middle School/High School Piano Accompanist for the 2026–2027 school year.
We are looking for a gifted musician who is passionate about using their talents to serve Christ through Christian education.
The ideal candidate is a committed follower of Jesus Christ who is actively pursuing a growing relationship with Him and desires to use their gift of pianoaccompaniment to impact students musically and spiritually while supporting Landmark’s mission of preparing every student to impact the world for Jesus Christ.
Primary Purpose
The Piano Accompanist partners with Middle School and High School Choral Directors to provide musical accompaniment, instructional support, classroom assistance, and administrative support in a Christ-centered environment consistent with Landmark Christian School’s Core Values, Vision, and Mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide piano accompaniment for daily choral rehearsals, concerts, festivals, and performances.
  • Assist directors with classroom management and student engagement.
  • Prepare accompaniment scores for rehearsals and performances.
  • Demonstrate strong sight-reading and open-score reading skills.
  • Provide occasional transpositions and musical adaptations as needed.
  • Assist with sectional rehearsals, vocal parts, sight-singing, music literacy, and theory instruction.
  • Encourage students toward musical excellence and growth.
  • Maintain the choral music library.
  • Assist with rehearsal recordings, practice tracks, concert attire, music distribution, and other departmental needs.
  • Be an active, supportive member of the Fine Arts Department.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and a servant’s heart.
  • Model Christian character, integrity, humility, and servant leadership.

Qualifications
  • Exceptional piano skills with advanced sight-reading and score-reading abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, Piano Performance, or related field preferred; equivalent accompanying experience also considered.
  • Experience accompanying choirs or vocal ensembles preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and related software.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, faculty, and administrators in a Christian school environment.
