Working directly with data engineering teams, this role turns business logic, predictive analytics, and AI models into robust, automated data platforms. Rather than building standard reports, the Sr. Data Architect - AI & Analytics Platforms builds foundational platform architectures, automated pipelines, and AI enablement layers that empower CPG clients and internal teams to directly access advanced insights, optimize campaign spend, and measure incremental performance at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
This is a remote position unless employee sits within a 40 mile radius of a Vestcom location then they will go onsite 2x a week.
  • Platform Architecture & AI Enablement: Architect and implement scalable, cloud-native analytics platforms (Databricks, Snowflake) that enable direct self-service access to insights, predictive models, and GenAI-assisted analytics tools.
  • Engineering Collaboration & Technical Mentorship: Act as the hands-on bridge between business strategy and engineering teams, partnering closely with senior and junior data engineers to translate complex business rules into modular SQL/Python code, data models, and scalable platform services.
  • Decision Engine Development & Automation: Design, evolve, and automate measurement engines and algorithms that compute campaign performance (e.g., iROAS, Test vs. Control) against massive retail transaction datasets.
  • Multi-Source Data Integration: Author integration pipelines and data models that unify multi-retailer point-of-sale (POS) data, third-party syndicated datasets, and internal platform metrics into an integrated Analytics Data Warehouse.
  • Analytics Productization & Stack Optimization: Transform exploratory analytical models into production-ready analytical tools (e.g., Category Buyer Dynamics, predictive audience targeting) while continuously optimizing the cloud data warehousing and decision intelligence ecosystem.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Education & Senior Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related quantitative field, with 8+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, platform development, or analytics architecture (including 3+ years operating at a senior technical level).
  • Domain & Industry Knowledge: Strong background in CPG/Retail analytics, point-of-sale (POS) transactional data, campaign measurement methodologies (Test vs. Control), and strong knowledge and experience with digital in the Retail Media Network (RMN) space (in-store digital media, DOOH, ESL, etc.).
  • Platform & Technical Depth: Proven hands-on experience architecting and deploying analytics solutions on Databricks or Snowflake environments, with advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, database design, star/snowflake schema data modeling, ETL/ELT pipeline design, and API integration.
  • AI & Production Coding: Strong familiarity and experience incorporating machine learning models, predictive algorithms, and AI tools into operational analytics workflows, with a demonstrated ability to write production code alongside data engineers.
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to lead technical execution across cross-functional teams and effectively communicate platform capabilities to non-technical business stakeholders.
