----
LANDR is a fast-growing audio company made up of left-brained creative technologists, right-brained music professionals and everyone in between. Together, we are revolutionizing the process for music makers to help them create, master, distribute and promote their music.

We love music. We love musicians. Our mission is to give music makers the freedom to create and be heard. We bring our love of music to the office every day and we are continuously innovating to create experiences that delight and engage our audience of over 6 million music creators. We love best practices but we aren't afraid to break them.

We're looking for a Music Content Writer. Someone who genuinely gets what it's like to be an independent artist trying to get heard in 2026. You've been in the trenches of music promotion. You know the small wins that add up to a real fanbase, and you know why most advice out there misses the mark.

In this role, you'll be an editorial voice for LANDR. The topics you'll own are the ones artists actually lose sleep over: how to promote a release, how to make money from music, how to show up on social, how to create assets that stop the scroll, and how to use AI tools without losing the soul of what you're making.

You can write, and you can think strategically too. You'll build the content roadmap, run the editorial calendar, and help grow our organic reach. You'll watch the numbers, celebrate what's working, and rip up what isn't.

Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy & Execution: Own your content's lifecycle, from ideation and content calendar management to high-value execution on our blog and product websites.
  • Cross-Functional Project Coordination: Act as the bridge between content and other departments, coordinating timelines and deliverables to ensure brand alignment.
  • Research & Insights: Conduct competitive analysis and keyword research to uncover high-impact content opportunities that resonate with independent musicians and producers.
  • Brand Stewardship: Write compelling, clear, and actionable copy that adheres strictly to LANDR's brand guidelines and tone of voice.
  • Conversion-Focused Storytelling: Seamlessly blend engaging storytelling with high-converting marketing copy to guide users through the creator journey.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 4+ years of professional writing experience specifically within the music industry.
  • Collaborative Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities. You can comfortably collaborate with product managers, developers, and executive stakeholders to align and coordinate project goals.
  • Music Industry Domain Knowledge: A strong understanding of the modern music ecosystem, specifically music distribution and promotion.
  • A Marketing-Writer Mindset: Exceptional writing skills that can balance educational, high-value editorial content with conversion-focused copywriting.
  • Self-Direction: Proven ability to manage your own content pipelines, from research to publication.

Assets

  • SEO/GEO Knowledge: Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) best practices to help our content stand out in modern search landscapes.
  • Musician Roots: You are a musician, producer, or audio engineer who has personally distributed and promoted your own music. You speak the language of our users because you are one of our users.

Here are a few perks that we enjoy at LANDR:

  • Competitive compensation, based on your role, experience and expertise
  • Health insurance coverage, with access to telemedicine via Maple and to an Employee Assistance Program via PeopleConnect
  • Access to our RRSP program, including an employer matching contribution of up to 2% of your annual salary
  • Frequent office and social events (Catering on Monday, Bagel Tuesdays, 5@7, etc.)
  • Your birthday is a free day
  • Annual public transit (Montreal employees) & sport activity allowance
  • Free access to our music studio (for practice or recording)
  • Free access to LANDR and Reason products
  • Open office space in Downtown close to Square-Victoria Metro Station
  • Opportunity to join the LANDR Band
  • Partnerships with local music events & festivals (MUTEK, Pop Montreal, Igloofest...)

At LANDR, we don't just accept diversity, we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our products, and our community. LANDR is striving every day to create a more diverse workplace, and we strongly encourage applications from people of color, women, LGBTQ people, people of any religion, age, or belonging to any marginalized community.

We accept people as they are and firmly believe diversity is essential to our success! If you're applying to LANDR, it's because you want to contribute to our amazing company and culture, and we're thankful for that!

We work hard to create the best experience for our employees and we'd love for you to be a part of it!
