Part-Time Guest Services Attendant
KidZone Museum | Truckee, CA
Part-Time | 20-25 hours/week | Weekdays, weekends & holidays
About the Position
KidZone Museum is looking for a friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic Guest Services Attendant to join our team! This position is an important part of creating a welcoming, safe, and fun experience for children and families visiting the Museum.
The Guest Services Attendant works at the front desk and throughout the Museum, providing excellent customer service while helping with admissions, memberships, retail sales, programs, events, and general Museum operations.
What You'll Do
  • Welcome and assist visitors, members, and families with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Process admissions, memberships, renewals, registrations, and retail purchases.
  • Answer phones and provide information about Museum programs, events, and memberships.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming Museum environment.
  • Monitor exhibit areas and help children and families follow Museum safety guidelines.
  • Assist with workshops, arts and crafts, educational programs, birthday parties, group visits, and special events.
  • Organize and restock exhibit, art, and program materials.
  • Assist with retail organization, merchandising, and sales.
  • Operate the cash register and complete daily cash and credit card reconciliation.
  • Clean and disinfect exhibits, toys, high-touch surfaces, and other designated areas.
  • Assist with general facility upkeep, including snow removal during the winter.
  • Attend required staff and training meetings.
  • Pitch in with other Museum duties as needed.

The ideal candidate is:
  • Friendly, welcoming, and comfortable interacting with children and families.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
  • A strong communicator and problem solver.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, active, and sometimes noisy environment.
  • Able to take initiative and recognize what needs to be done.
  • Comfortable using computers, email, and learning new software.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus.
