Work Schedule: Our operating hours are Monday - Friday 9:45 - 5:00, Saturday 8:45 - 5, Sunday 12:30 - 5. We schedule as short as 2 hours up to all day. 

Desired Length of Employment: Ongoing 

Pay Rate: $10/hour

Job Description: The Mayborn Museum is the exciting Hands-On Science and Natural History Museum on Campus. While working in the store you have the chance to engage with Visitors, University Educators and Staff in a fun environment that delivers quality customer service. The Museum Store is often the last stop in our visitor's adventure, and we are looking for associates that want to be part of their memorable visit.
Job Functions:

  • Greet visitors and deliver excellent customer service
  • Exhibit professionalism in all things including appearance, co-worker interactions, and visitor interactions
  • Ability to prioritize and take initiative
  • Cash handling
  • Working in the Point-of-Sale system
  • Answer frequently asked questions about merchandise
  • Handle small projects as assigned
  • Maintain working knowledge about museum history and exhibits
  • Assist with various projects, activities and tasks related to business operations
  • Perform business operations duties for assigned area of responsibility
  • Be able to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to comply with University policies  
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Assist in planning, coordinating and helping with events as needed
  • Deliver excellent customer services to clients and visitors
  • Provide information and answer inquiries as needed
  • Assist with various activities and tasks related to events and hospitality services
