Job description

ย
The Muse Academy is a licensed, play-based early childhood program in Long Beach, CA serving children from six weeks through kindergarten. Our program is grounded in emergent curriculum โ€” a responsive, child-led approach that honors each child's interests, questions, and pace of development.ย

โ€ข Staff supervision & performance management โ€” Lead, coach, and hold accountability for site staff to maintain a high-functioning, mission-aligned team.
โ€ข Family communication & enrollment โ€” Serve as a primary point of contact for enrolled families and newly enrolled families.
โ€ข CCLD compliance & licensing โ€” Maintain full regulatory compliance with Title 22 standards; serve as the primary CCLD relationship holder on-site.
โ€ข Emergent curriculum planning & implementation โ€” Lead and sustain emergent curriculum practices across all classrooms; ensure programming is developmentally appropriate, child-led, and responsive.
---
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

ย โ€ข Site Supervisor or Director Permit โ€” Required
โ€ข ECE degree or related field โ€” Required
โ€ข Prior preschool director experience โ€” Required
โ€ข CCLD licensing & compliance knowledge โ€” Required
โ€ข Emergent curriculum experience โ€” Required (hands-on implementation preferred)

โ€ข Neurodivergent & special needs experience โ€” Strongly preferred
---
WHO YOU ARE

ย You are a systems thinker who doesn't wait to be told what needs to be done โ€” you see it, name it, and fix it. You lead with warmth and hold high standards. You thrive in environments where structure is still being built. You're comfortable working independently, communicating up to a visionary CEO, and making sound decisions without constant oversight. Complex problems energize rather than drain you.
If this resonates, we'd love to hear from you. Please send your resume and a brief note about why this role fits where you are right now to:
