About East Cooper Medical Center:

Located in the heart of Mount Pleasant, East Cooper Medical Center serves one of the fastest-growing communities in the Southeast. The hospital's Level II Special Care Nursery/NICU provides specialized care for newborns requiring intermediate-level support and is backed by the expertise and referral network of MUSC Children's Health, the state's premier pediatric and neonatal care provider. Required Qualifications:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Board-certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine

  • Completion of an accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship

  • Minimum of five years of neonatal practice experience following fellowship training

  • Eligible for South Carolina medical licensure

  • Experience performing circumcisions or willingness to obtain training

  • Experience with ventilator management

  • Commitment to family-centered care and participation in daily multidisciplinary rounds

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with speech therapy, lactation, and family support services

  • Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered neonatal care

  • Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
