Job description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Perform all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Application Developer or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Application Developer or related occupation.


Skills Required: This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following: developing web-based applications using Java, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot; building front-end UI components with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; developing single-page applications with React.js and TypeScript; configuring and developing Adobe Experience Manager UI components. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: developing scalable, robust software based on microservice architecture patterns that expose functionality via REST APIs; managing dependencies with Maven; designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines leveraging Jenkins for pipeline orchestration and pipeline-as-code; SonarQube for static analysis, code coverage, and quality gate enforcement; migrating legacy applications to be deployed in AWS cloud; implementing automated testing using Selenium in conjunction with Groovy-based SmartSpec to automate requirements and test specifications; performing regression, performance, and load testing, including analyzing results, conducting root cause analysis, and designing and implementing solutions; executing end-to-end production support by leveraging Splunk, Datadog, and Dynatrace to diagnose issues and resolve tickets with comprehensive closure documentation; building file- based applications that utilize JSON- and XML-formatted payloads for data transfers; performing data manipulation, data structuring, data design flows, and query optimization using SQL; delivering projects through the full SDLC using Agile methodologies; integrating applications with Apache Kafka by implementing producers and consumers for reliable, scalable, event-driven messaging; implementing data access layers using Hibernate ORM with Oracle and SQL databases; managing source code repositories in Bitbucket using Git, including branching, merging, and pull request workflows. Experience and skills may be gained through graduate-level internships.
