Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Building Substitute Teacher -Full Year, (multiple positions)
Job Description: The Building Substitute  is assigned to a specific building and reports each day that school is in session for students. The Building Substitute fills in for daily vacancies in the building.  
Qualifications:





  1. Hold valid New York State School teaching certificate
  2. Knowledge of  curriculum
  3. Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy
  4. Ability to differentiate instruction
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with students
  6. Ability to engage in self-evaluation and to incorporate insights gleaned from professional development into practice
  7. Ability to effectively  utilize technology
  8. Ability to engage culturally diverse students
  9. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with internal and external stakeholders


 Responsibilities:

  1. Promote a classroom environment that is culturally diverse, safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction and student learning
  2. Administer elementary curriculum consistent with District goals and objectives
  3. Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher
  4. Maintain standards of student behavior in the classroom
  5. Work collaboratively with all staff members
  6. Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Building Administrator 


Terms of Employment:
The position of Building Substitute is a 1 year, per diem, 10 month position. 
Reports to: Building Principal
Salary:  $200/day
