Aon is actively seeking an experienced Insurance Officer to join our expanding team!

This is a hybrid OR remote roleStrong preference for candidates who can work from our Burlington, VT office. This role will require Eastern Standard Time work hours.

What the day will look like

As an Insurance Officer, you will lead all aspects of the insurance needs of clients from varied industries. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advise clients on complex insurance matters, evaluating policy terms and conditions
  • Serve as the primary contact for insurance-related inquiries, communicating program details
  • Organize insurance and reinsurance documentation efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with brokers and consultants to lead renewals or implement new programs
  • Collaborate with financial professionals to ensure clients receive comprehensive solutions
  • Communicate changes to client insurance programs with state regulators
  • Prepare and present materials to executive leaders at annual client board meetings, including captive utilization discussions.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Experience across multiple lines of Commercial Insurance, including Property, Casualty, Marine, Financial lines, and other nuanced or industry specific lines of business
  • Previous brokerage and/or underwriting experience; captive insurance experience is preferred
  • Ability to clearly explain various coverages to diverse audiences
  • Responsiveness to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of proven experience
  • P&C license preferred
  • CPCU, ARM, and/or other insurance designations helpful

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $90,000-$125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, depth of experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Burlington, VT. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.


This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
