About KOLO:
KOLO 8 News Now is the ABC, CW, and Telemundo affiliate television station serving the Reno/Sparks area, Northern Nevada, and parts of eastern California. KOLO broadcasts seven hours of news weekdays. We are also dedicated to serving the community through KOLO Cares, partnering with area non-profit organizations.
Job Summary/Description:
KOLO 8 News Now is seeking a multimedia journalist to work Monday through Friday. We are seeking a reporter who enjoys storytelling and can help contribute content on a regular basis. If you are a self-starter who is naturally curious about the world around you and enjoys interacting with people, then we want you to join our team. As an MMJ, you will also help with posting news stories to the station website and social media pages.
Daily duties include shooting, editing, and writing news stories for newscasts, writing and posting news stories to the station website and social media pages, and contributing story pitches.
Please note - the primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the duties listed above
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Two years of prior newsroom and reporting experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with ENPS, Edius, social media, and ARC are a plus.
