Job description

Company Overview

Come grow with us! We are One Rayonier, a team that works together to create value by prioritizing safety, challenging the status quo, giving back to our communities, and driving innovation through continuous learning. With nearly 100 years of experience, we’re still discovering new ways to make lives better with our trees, our land, and - our most important resource - our people. At Rayonier, we strive to create an employee experience where you feel valued and proud to be part of our team. We foster a respectful, inclusive and collaborative environment that celebrates your unique talents and perspectives. Experience the Rayonier difference: We’re big enough to offer exciting career paths, but small enough for you to know your colleagues by name. Come join a team that empowers you to make a difference!

How You Will Contribute

We are looking for an individual who wants a multi-faceted corporate story to tell, a brand to master, and the drive to create enterprise value. In this role, you will be:

  • A Strategic Storyteller: You thrive on finding the story behind our vast land assets, sustainability achievements, and corporate milestones, turning them into compelling, high-impact narrative assets.
  • Adaptable Communicator: You bridge internal and external audiences seamlessly—crafting executive messaging one day and producing multi-channel digital content or managing media requests the next.
  • Culture Catalyst: You know how to bridge gaps across diverse business groups and geographically distributed teams, delivering internal communication channels that inspire, educate, and connect our employees.
  • Media & Stakeholder Partner: You build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, industry organizations, and community stakeholders, supporting both proactive messaging and reactive issues management.
  • Creative Producer: You are as comfortable overseeing website content updates and newsletter revamps as you are planning and directing on-site photo shoots, video productions, and podcasts.
Key Accountabilities

Strategic & Executive Communications

Strategic Alignment: Partner closely with the Director of Communications to execute enterprise-wide communication and brand strategies aligned with corporate, sustainability, and investor priorities.

Executive & Internal Messaging: Support leadership communications, town halls, and internal channels to align and inspire a distributed, multi-location workforce.

Brand & Digital Management: Maintain brand standards and oversee digital content across corporate website, intranet, and social media platforms.

External & Media Relations

Media & Issues Management: Draft press releases, handle media inquiries, build industry stakeholder relationships, and monitor public sentiment to mitigate emerging issues.

Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with business units (Forestry, Real Estate, Legal, Finance) and Investor Relations to ensure unified messaging for company initiatives and events.

Content Creation & Creative Production

Multi-Channel Storytelling: Write, edit, and publish engaging content highlighting Rayonier’s land stewardship, climate solutions, and business achievements across digital, social, and print channels.

Multimedia Production: Plan and lead on-site video shoots, photo shoots, and podcast production.
