The EMC is the one-stop shop for visual information services throughout the Federal Government and the Department of Defense.EMC offers a full range of media services to enlist, educate, and empower the warfighter.
Summary:
The VIOS System Manager will manage, oversee, implement, and maintain the Visual Information Ordering Site (VIOS) at the highest level of performance updates/upgrades and recovery procedures for the mission-critical enterprise system.
Work you'll do:
As a VIOS System Managerwithin our Enterprise Multimedia Center (EMC) team you will:
  • Manage, oversee, and maintain the Visual Information Ordering Site (VIOS) and provide timely notification by the Enterprise VI helpdesk of planned and unplanned system maintenance or degradation to support front-end users.
  • Manage specialized software to store and organize data.
  • Provide enhancements to VIOS and be able to identify database requirements by interviewing customers, analyzing applications, programming, evaluating existing systems, and designing proposed systems.
    • Support database functions by designing and coding utilities.
  • Provide training to staff on the use of computer systems, related peripheral devices, and software applications as needed for the completion of their assigned duties.
  • Provide day-to-day system security posture support by ensuring that operational security is maintained for an information system.
  • Assist in other areas of the VI/Multimedia center.
  • Complete annual company and customer training requirements according to established policies and procedures.
  • Record labor hours daily in an online corporate system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree OR
  • Associate degree with 4+ additional years of work experience
  • 5+ years of working experience in a related field
  • Must obtain certification in Microsoft SQL, C-Sharp, and all the DoD-directed requirements, including 8570 credentials or a system administrator to interface with personnel in the network center within six months of hire
  • Background check required
    • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within 6 months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to install, configure, and design databases, migration, performance monitoring, security, and troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery.
  • Ability to pass customer security requirements.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively explain VIOS issues and statutes of work requests in a manner customers understand.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-performance-based environment.
  • Must have advanced computer knowledge and skills, a good work ethic, and demonstrate problem-solving abilities.
  • Shall possess strong interpersonal skills, times, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Shall conduct certification requirements, including classes, credentialing, and continual certification as required.
