Job description

The Role

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Intern to support Versaterm's content, design and communications efforts. Working closely with the Marketing & Communications team, you will contribute to a wide range of projects spanning written content, visual design and brand execution. This role is ideal for someone who can move fluidly between crafting a well-structured blog post and formatting a polished presentation deck. You will learn how to develop executive communications strategies, interact and build relationships with the media and create content at both the product and thought leadership level. You will also learn how to develop and use AI tools to augment communications workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Write, edit and proofread content for blogs, social media, campaigns, websites and external communications
  • Apply SEO/AEO/GEO best practices to published content and website
  • Assist in drafting media outreach materials and communications assets as needed
  • Support social media through content creation and channel monitoring
  • Maintain consistency with brand guidelines across written and visual materials
  • Translate written content into clear, visually effective multimedia assets
  • Build and format PowerPoint presentations and collateral for internal and external use
  • Other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

  • Pursuing Associate's, Bachelor's or graduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media or a related field preferred
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word with the ability to create polished and engaging presentations and documents
  • A creative and innovative mindset paired with strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Light visual storytelling and layout design skills; experience with image editing or creative design tools is considered an asset
  • Interest in public safety technology and emerging tools including AI and drones
  • Based in the Lexington/Columbia, SC area preferred
