The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) currently has a vacancy for aย Multimedia Designer within our Communications, Marketing & Engagement division. This position is based out of our Educational Service Center in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.ย 
The CCIU is a dynamic educational service agency providing quality, innovative and cost-effective programs and services to enhance the lives of learners, educators and members of our communities.
The CCIU provides services to the 12 school districts in Chester County. This includes services to nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The Chester County Intermediate Unit is one ofย 29 regional educational agenciesย established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971. Working between theย Pennsylvania State Department of Educationย and the local school districts, theย Intermediate Unit's missionย is to provide services that can be offered most economically at the regional level.

Summary of Position:
The Multimedia Designer plays a pivotal role in shaping CCIU's visual identity and brand storytelling across all physical and digital touchpoints. This role conceptualizes and produces engaging multimedia content by blending traditional graphic design with dynamic animation and motion graphics. Working closely with cross-functional marketing, communications, and development teams, the designer translates complex concepts and campaign strategies into compelling visual narratives. From strategic, outcome-focused print collateral to high-impact motion graphics and video to interactive website assets and digital advertising, the ideal candidate ensures all creative outputs enhance audience engagement, drive brand awareness, and strictly adhere to established brand guidelines across all platforms.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Graphic Design, Motion Design, Digital Media, Advertising, or a related program.
  • Minimum three years of work experience preferred.
  • Current, within one year, Act 34, Act 151, police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Graphic & Layout Design: Create visually compelling marketing materials, including brochures, social media assets, digital ads, web banners, event signage, and presentation graphics, applying strong typography, composition, and visual storytelling.
  • Motion Graphics & Animation: Conceptualize, design, and produce 2D motion graphics and animations in Adobe After Effectsincluding animated titles, lower thirds, transitions, logo animations, infographics, and kinetic typographyfor integration into final video productions, social media, web, and digital signage.
  • Video Production & Asset Development: Edit and assemble raw footage, integrate animated and graphic elements, add audio and titling, and format finalized video to channel-appropriate specifications. Build reusable motion graphics templates (MOGRTs) and asset libraries to support efficient, consistent production.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all design and motion elements adhere to CCIU, TCHS, BVA, etc. brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent aesthetic across all channels.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, communications, and web teams to brainstorm concepts, storyboard, and bring project ideas to life from concept through delivery.
  • Platform Optimization: Optimize graphics, videos, and interactive elements to ensure strong performance and responsiveness across varying devices and platforms, including appropriate formats, frame rates, and render specifications.
  • Project Management: Manage the design and production process by coordinating with outside services, printers, and internal team members within the project management system, ensuring timelines and deadlines are met.
  • Continuous Learning: Keep current with software updates, motion design trends, and emerging multimedia and AI-assisted creative tools to remain proficient in required programs.
